Objectives
When successfully completing this SS students will be able to:
LO1. Theoretically define contemporary dimensions of Latin America.
LO2. Theoretically and empirically explain the importance of an interdisciplinary approach to the topics of the SS;
LO3. Have the knowledge of relevant concepts for the understanding of the political, social and economic development of Latin America.
LO4. Analyse the patterns of social mobilisation in Latin America.
LO5. Theoretically and empirically analyse processes of local, national and regional identification;
LO6. Identify and analyse the major dynamics of Latin America?s countries insertion in the global stage.

Evaluation process
The assessment of knowledge learning and skills acquisition includes:
a)Attendance and participation in lectures (30%) b)Presentation and discussion in class of literature topics and illustrative empirical information (indicators) (40%) c)Final written report of the learning process offered by the IP (30%)
